HENDRIK-DIRK KRUSEMAN VAN ELTON (American, 1829-1904) “POOL IN THE WOODS”. Oil on canvas scene shows a meandering stream through clearing in woods. Sunlight shines through background trees and illuminates five cows which are seen beside stream. Rock sided hill is seen in background. All in a nice summer landscape. Signed lower left “Kruseman Van Elton”. Original carved wood frame has printed label with title, artist and description. Also part of an original hand written label with title and artist name.
