This portable carrying case fitted with numerous lenses were used by early opticians to determine the strength or weakness of patient’s eyes and then to prescribe the correct strength eye glasses. Fitted with enumerable original test lenses (some missing). Interior of the lid is marked “Machet & Fils 17 Rue St. Sererin 7 Paris” also “GA None & Parsons Opticians New York”. Interior of the case is lined with burgundy. SIZE: 19-1/2″ w x 12″ d x 2-1/2″ h.
