*WONDERFUL A. H. FOX CE GRADE SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 303306. Cal. 16 ga. 28″ Chromox Fluid Steel bbls with tapered, matted, concave rib with sgl silver sighting bead, 2-1/2″ chambers, IMP-CYL / IMP-MOD chokes with sgl trigger & ejectors. Chamber areas have 1-1/2″ wedge of scroll engraving, with right bbl marked “CHROMOX FLUID COMPRESSED STEEL” & on left “MADE BY SAVAGE ARMS CORP. UTICA. NY. U.S.A.”. C grade receiver is engraved with foliate arabesque scroll surrounding an oval with “Ansley H. Fox” & 2 quail facing each other on left and “Ansley H. Fox” & 2 woodcock on right. Circle vignette on bottom of receiver is a pointing setter with hills in background. Remainder of engraving is foliate arabesque scroll. Mounted in nicely streaked walnut with checkered side panels, checkered straight grip & serrated hard rubber butt plate. Checkered splinter forend with ebony insert tip. Bore diameter: left -.660, right -.660. Bore restrictions: left -.017, right -.007. Wall thickness: left -.029, right -.029. Drop at heel: 2-5/8″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 1 oz. LOP 13-7/8″. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90-95% orig blue with muzzle wear, light thinning over chambers & a few light handling marks. Receiver has 70-75% orig case colors with a mixture of brown & silver patina across bottom & sharp edges. Trigger guard has traces of orig blue mixed with brown patina and silver through grip area. Stock is sound with minor hairline behind top tang & the usual light nicks & dings from hunting use. Checkering is good & shows normal wear. Finish is orig & has a nice hand-worn patina. Forend is sound with slightly worn checkering. Gun is tight with lever slightly to right. Mechanics are crisp with strong ejectors & working selector on trigger.
