THOMAS PRICHARD ROSSITER (American, 1818-1871) “THE LUNCH BASKET”. Fine large oil on canvas scene shows grandmother and girl walking along dirt and grass covered path. Each holds a lunch basket through arm. Child holds umbrella and wears white bonnet and dress. Older woman wears brown shawl over a blue skirt with blue bonnet. All against a summer landscape with fence. Signed lower left “Rossiter”. Housed in a magnificent gesso decorated gilt and white washed replacement frame. SIZE: 36” x 28”. CONDITION: Very good. Some spot inpainting, relined. 9-97656 (8,000-12,000)
