*SCARCE POST-WAR SMITH & WESSON COMMERCIAL MODEL 1917 REVOLVER. Cal. 45 ACP/Auto Rim. SN 210095. Blued finish, 5-1/2” bbl, integral half moon front sight, groove rear sight, standard trigger & hammer, with diamond checkered medallion magna grips, with a lanyard loop in the butt. Accompanied by its original dark maroon 2-pc box with faded green label. Also accompanies is a Smith & Wesson letter identifying this revolver and indicating that it was shipped on June 27, 1946 to Ed Brendamour, Inc., Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Jinks goes on to state that it is one of 991 commercial models produced after the second World War. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Retains 93-95% original blue, turned a little dull, with light muzzle & edge wear. Grips are very fine. Good mechanics, bright shiny bore. Box has worn edges & two broken corners in the lid with two strips of tape on the top. 4-51673 JR632 (1,250-1,750)
