AMERICAN VICTORIAN PAINTED PORCELAIN DECORATED SHELF CLOCK. Circa 1890. The forest green case paint-decorated overall with floral sprays on a cream ground, the scrolled borders with gilt highlights. The enamel dial with Arabic chapter ring and time-and-strike apertures. The silvered backplate marked “W L GILBERT CLOCK CO./ WINSTED CONN.”. SIZE: 10″ h. x 11-1/2″ w. x 4-3/4″ d. PROVENANCE: From an extensive private Gulf Coast collection. CONDITION: Minor crackling in case. Hairlines in enamel dial. Otherwise very good overall. 9-93327 (300-500)
