*28 GA. FAMARS CASTORE PRESTIGE HAMMER GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 30711. Cal. 28 Ga. 3″ Chambers. 26″ Dovetailed barrels with raised concave game rib are engraved “Armi Famars” on top of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with 1974 Italian nitro proofs for 3″ chambers, “Famars”, and SN. Scaled down coin finished action has traditionally filed fences, and non-selective single trigger. Back action locks have sculpted serpentine hammers that are below line of sight when cocked. Action and lockplates are engraved with full coverage traditional scroll, and fences are left un-engraved in counterpoint. Lock internal parts are gold washed. Engravers signature “Belleri” is on trigger plate to right of bow. Striking, intricately marbled burl figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at 24 LPI with line border. Matching long semi-beavertail forend has Anson release. Central uncheckered diamond is inlaid with gold Famars crowned shield device. Bore diameter: left -.558, right -.559. Bore restrictions: left -.000, right -.000. Wall thickness: left -.037, right -.034. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 3.5 oz, LOP 14-1/4″. Composition case with burl veneer finish and leather corners, is lined in green felt, and contains a pair of snap caps. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain virtually all their original blue. Action retains all of its coin finish, some slight discoloration at grip of trigger guard. Stocks retain nearly all their original finish, with just a few marks, and light scratches from handling and use. There is an area on right side that has seen professional attention to re-fill some separation of the figure of this complex piece of wood. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Breech face shows very little use. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny with no visible imperfections. Case exterior is very fine. Finish is hazing, with a few minor marks and rubs. Interior is excellent. A great little woodcock gun. 4-40867 MGM113 (12,500-17,500)
