JAPANESE WAKIZASHI.

JAPANESE WAKIZASHI. 21 ¼” shinogi zukuri blade, ubu nakago, two mekugi ana inscribed “KANEMICHI”. MOUNTS: Iron tsuba carved in a pierced leaf design, tsuka with same (rayskin) and fuchi only. Fuchi of shakudo with seashell motif some of which are gilded. SIZE: 28 ¼” long overall. CONDITION: Blade appears to have been slightly buffed. Temper and forging are unclear. Saya tied with cord. Pockets for kozuka and kogai, which are missing, approximately 5” long and ¼” wide piece out and the koiguchi and kojire are missing. Has a saya tsunakuchi (hook), black lacquered with gold lacquered floating leaves, some nicks and wear to the finish. 4-53742-12 GA12 (600-800).
