GIO PONTI DECORATED LAMP BASE. Hand painted Maiolica by Richard/Ginori circa 1920. This lamp base is decorated with golden cords and Odalisques figures against a sapphire blue ground which is a classic design by this artist. This exact example is pictured in the book Art Deco & Modernist Ceramics by Karen McCready; pg. 97 on a full color plate. Lamp is marked on the underside “EAS” in a circle, “0467”, “1470” and “Italy”. The lamp base is accompanied by the above mentioned reference book. SIZE: 8-1/4″ t.
