ROYAL CIRCUS “FARMER’S VAN”. Highly desirable circus toy that when pulled along the floor, the rear wheels engage a geared mechanism causing the farmers head to pop out of the center of the van. Enameled in bright colors and trimmed in gold. The toy is complete and in original paint. An oddity is that this toy has two different wheels on the horses’ hoofs. This piece was on display at the Hubley offices in New York City. After the closure of the Hubley factory, the owner had it on display in his house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. SIZE: 16”. CONDITION: Overall condition near mint, slight fading to paint on one side (sitting in sun?) Repair to a frame holding rear left wheel. One plume replaced. JL 1-4537 (4,500-6,000)
