*PIOTTI KING – 1 SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 8742. Cal. 16 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Chopper lump barrels with raised concave matted game rib are engraved “F lli. Piotti Italy” on side of left bbl. Bbl flats are stamped with SN, Piotti logo, and Italian nitro proofs for 1988. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with other proofs. Bottom of left bbl is engraved “W L Moore, Westlake CA., Mod. King 1”. Full sidelock action features non-automatic safety (“S” inlaid in gold), raised pointer tumbler end cocking indicators, and single non-selective trigger. Action and lockplates have nearly full coverage of well cut small scroll interspersed with floral and acanthus sprays. “F.lli Piotti” is engraved on left side of action under lockplate. Top lever has gold sovereign crown inlaid. Single beaded small bow trigger guard has matching scroll with SN on long tang. Engravers signature “G Ranetti” is on trigger plate to right of trigger. Strikingly marbled and somewhat stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-7/8″ over finely engraved skeleton buttplate with checkered wood center. Stock features diamond hand, and cleanly cut 32 LPI point pattern wrap-around checkering with line border. Matching splinter forend has Anson release with inlaid gold Fratelli Piotti device in uncheckered central diamond. Bore diameter: left -.675, right -.676. Bore restrictions: left -.014, right -.010. Wall thickness: left -.026, right -.032. Drop at heel: 2-1/8″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Weight: 6 lbs. 8 oz, LOP 14-7/8″. Fine oak and leather case with zippered canvas outer cover, has brass corners and lock. Interior is lined in burgundy cloth, with oak top partitions, and contains rosewood and brass 2-pc cleaning rod, pair of snap caps, oil bottle, and leather wallet with brushes, etc., as well as a packet of gauze. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain nearly all of their orig blue, silvering slightly at muzzles, and with some marks from contact with forend. Coin finish of action has darkened slightly. Stocks retain nearly all of their orig rubbed oil finish with a few marks and compressions. There are 2 small but fairly deep dings near rear of checkering on left side. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Trigger works. Bores are excellent, bright and shiny with no visible imperfections. Case is excellent. Accessories are excellent.
