JAPANESE LATE 19th CENTURY KO-KATANA PERHAPS MEJI PERIOD SWORD. 23 ¾” shinogi zukuri blade, hand forged with narrow midare hamon. Ubu makago with one mekugi ana bearing signature, which is light and hard to read. SIZE: 36 ½” long overall. MOUNTS: Soft metal cast tsuba with boat, turtle and bird. Menuki are dragons with gilt highlights. Fuchi kashira are mismatched. CONDITION: Blade clean with some scuffing and dried oil. Tsuka ito is tight, saya is plain wood covered with a leather boot and is damaged. 4-53741-11 GA11 (300-500).
