*SMITH & WESSON PRE- MODEL 23 DA TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 38 spcl. SN 41012. Early 38-44 Outdoorsman’s, blue finish, round top target revolver with 6-1/2” bbl, Partridge front sight, and adjustable rear sight. It has original diamond checkered silver medallion walnut grips. Accompanied by an original type blue and gold box with a picture of a revolver on top. Also accompanies is a Smith & Wesson letter dated June 26, 2000 as having been shipped April 15, 1932 to J. Thomas Gentry, Danville, KY. This letter states that 4761 of these revolvers were produced 1931-1941. CONDITION: Extremely fine. All matching including the grips. Has been fired but very little. Retains 98-99% strong original factory finish. Grips are also extremely fine showing little or no diamond point wear. Bright shiny bore. Box lid has 1 blown corner with heavy edge wear and several nicks and scratches. 4-51724 JR449 (1,000-1,500)
