*CUSTOM SWITCH-BARREL LEFT HAND REMINGTON BOLT ACTION RIFLE BY GARY STILES. Cal. 300 Weatherby Mag & 416 Remington Mag. SN A6282202. Fantastic custom rifle by master gunsmith, Gary Stiles with two 24” bbls with ramp front sights, gold bead caterpillar blades & fixed stalking sight on a quarter rib. Calibers are engraved over chamber area & Mr. Stiles’ signature appears on inside of bbl takedown rings. Mounted with gray Rutland Plywood laminated stock with checkered forestocks & capped pistol grip, 13-3/4” over a solid red pad. Each bbl has a safari sling mount with a mortised base on bottom of stock. Grip cap has a trap with a spare front sight with large night bead. Takedown system is very clever with 4-part interrupted threads & a spring loaded pin in bottom of forearms which mate with a corresponding hole & spring loaded detent in stock face. Bolt knob has very well executed 4-panel checkering with Talley mounts on receiver. It has a custom checkered tang safety, custom top right side bolt release & custom floorplate with a custom trigger. Accompanied by two Leupold scopes, one for each bbl with one being a Vari-X III 1.5-5X and the other a Vari-X IIC 3-9X. Both have satin finish with quick dismount rings. Also accompanied by a Nasco aluminum case with custom interior by Vermont Custom Cases. Also accompanying are approx. virgin nickeled Remington cases & seventy once fired Remington nickeled cases for the 416 magnum. Additionally includes a set of Redding dies, approx. 150 Hornady 400 grain round nose bullets, approx. 150 A-Square Dead-Tough 400 grain soft bullets and a sealed box of fifty Nosler 400 grain Spitzer partition bullets. Additionally included for the 300 Weatherby magnum are 40-rds of Remington 200 grain factory ammunition and 40-rds of factory Remington 178 grain extended range cartridges. A set of RCBS dies and approx. 100-rds of Weatherby brass. Consignor states that this rifle has accompanied him on several African safaris & that he has taken numerous game in both Africa & North America. CONDITION: Extremely fine. As noted, has been hunted, but retains virtually all of its fine custom finish to both metal & wood with only a minor handling mark or two. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bores. Crisp optics.
