19th CENTURY PLAINS INDIAN BOW FROM INFAMOUS SAND CREEK MASSACRE. Sit-down style or short bow, sinew reinforced with an inward curve, bow grip has an additional wrapping of twine cordage. Approx. length is 38”. Drawstring is missing. very old inscription on bow grip reads, “Found on the Battlefield of Sand Creek After the Massacre”. An exceptionally fine example. CONDITION: Very good.
