*SCARCE SOUTH GATE WEATHERBY BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 257 Weatherby Mag. SN 357. Wonderful lightweight sporter built on a Mauser action with 22” tapered, lightweight bbl without sights. Receiver is mounted with Buehler bases & rings containing a Weatherby Imperial German-made 4X scope with orig leather covers. The bolt body & extractor are jeweled and bolt knob has a checkered flat on bottom. It is mounted in very nicely figured, streaky, Claro American walnut 1-pc stock with extensively checkered forearm and pistol grip with Monte Carlo comb and shadow cheekpiece, 13-1/4” over a Pachmayr waffle pad. It has sling swivel studs in bottom and a checkered Niedner steel grip cap. It also has a Jaeger trigger. Floorplate & triggerguard are spectacularly engraved with a silver chamois in a mountain scene and raised silver initials “FHR” on trigger bow, all surrounded by full coverage, very well executed, foliate arabesque patterns. CONDITION: Extremely fine, near new, possibly unfired. Retains virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Mechanics are crisp, brilliant shiny bore. 4-30872 JR230 (2,000-3,000)
