*FRANCOTTE 25E SIDE-PLATED BOXLOCK EJECTOR 410 GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 88397. Cal. .410. 3″ Chambers. 26″ Dovetailed barrels with narrow raised matted rib and crossbolt extension, are engraved “Abercrombie & Fitch Co” and “U.S. Agents New-York” on tops. Bbl flats are stamped with Belgian nitro proofs for .410 3″ chambers, “Francotte Choke Bore”, (A F crowned logo), and “Siemans Martin Steel” in circular logo. Bottoms of bbls are stamped with choke information and SN. Nicely scaled diminutive sideplated action features automatic safety, crossbolt third fastener, and side clips. Action and lockplates are engraved with large flowing open scroll. Fences have oak leaf motif. Lockplates are engraved “A. Francotte Maker & Patentee Liege Belgium”. Blued trigger guard is engraved with scrolled acanthus, with SN on tang. Broadly streaked European walnut pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8″ over ribbed horn buttplate, and features horn grip cap, 20 LPI checkering with line border, and vacant gold oval on toe line. Matching splinter forend has Anson release. Bore diameter at muzzles: left -.375, right -.385. Wall thickness: left -.046, right -.049. Drop at heel: 2-9/16″, drop at comb: 1-9/16″. Weight: 4 lbs. 10 oz, LOP 14-1/8″. Brown leather Nizzoli case with stitched leather corners, is lined with olive green felt, with black and gold Flli Rizzini label. Gold plated metal Nizzoli emblem is inside of lid. Case contains a pair of snap caps and the key. CONDITION: Excellent, as completely and correctly re-finished. Bbls retain virtually all of a very fine lustrous blue, engraving slightly washed. Action retains 80% case color. Sideplates retain virtually all of their color. Trigger guard and top lever have nearly all of their blue. Top of thumbpiece is silvering. Stocks retain nearly all of a pleasing hand rubbed oil finish, edges remain sharp.
