*UNMARKED UNDER LEVER HAMMER DRILLING. Cal. 16X16/9.3X72R. SN 15790. Early 20th century drilling with 26-3/4” steel bbl cluster with 2-3/4” shotgun chambers with silver bead, caterpillar front sight and a manually articulated rear sight with doll’s head rib extension, dbl underbite & extractor. Mounted with replacement, straight grain walnut with schnable splinter forearm and semi-pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, 13-3/4” over a Bishop hard rubber buttplate. It has a fluted horn grip cap. Tiny rnd receiver & peninsula back action lockplates are typically Germanic engraved with a bugling stag on left side and a hare on left lockplate with a running raebuck on right side and a setter on right lockplate, all surrounded with light foliate arabesque patterns. Bore diameter: left – .669, right – .669. Bore restrictions: left – .037, right – .012. Wall thickness: left – .024, right – .021. Drop at heel: 2-1/2”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 6 lbs. 13.44 oz. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbls retain 60-70% thin, orig blue with balance a light patina. Receiver & lockplates are a cleaned metal color. Wood is sound and retains a fine custom finish. Mechanics are fine, strong bright shotgun bores with moderate pitting. Rifle bore is clean with some frosting in the grooves. 4-30213 JR191 (800-1,200)
