*RARE SMITH & WESSON MODEL 1926 DA TARGET REVOLVER. Cal. 44 Spcl. SN 54739. Third model 44 hand ejector target. One of only about 50 ever made. It has blue finish, 6-1/2” bbl, Partridge front sight with square notch adjustable rear sight, patent marked trigger & standard hammer, with diamond checkered silver medallion walnut grips and heavy bbl lug. Accompanied by a relined Smith & Wesson mahogany box. Accompanied by factory letter identifying this revolver and indicating shipment on July 23, 1940 to Chown Hardware Co., Portland, OR. Also accompanies is an original dark maroon hinged lid box, marked on the bottom in two places “Target”. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains 98-99% strong bright original factory finish to revolver & grips. Case colors on the trigger & hammer are slightly muted. Crisp mechanics & bright shiny bore. This revolver has been fired but very little. Box has a couple blown out corners and minor wear. 4-51856 JR552 (3,000-5,000)
