*DELUXE FRANCOTTE SIDE-PLATED EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 91702. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 27″ Chopper lump bbls with raised flat matted rib are inlaid in gold “Aug – Francotte – Leige” on top of right bbl. Bbl flats show Belgian nitro proofs, and have Francotte crowned logos. Bottom of right bbl is stamped with SN. Splinter is stamped “Ron Coleman – Carrollton, TX.” (Importer). This is also engraved on bottom rib under forend. Side-plated boxlock action features non-automatic safety (“Safe” inlaid in gold), Purdey style hidden third fastener, and double triggers. Action is engraved with well cut relief large shaded open scroll. “Aug. Francotte Liege Belgium” is on lozenge on bottom of action. Sideplates have game birds inlaid in gold relief on Kell inspired borderless backgrounds. Doves flying through open wooded background are on left plate, and covey of quail flushing into meadow are on right plate. Trigger guard has matching scroll work with SN inlaid in gold in elongated oval on long tang. Dark, nicely marbled and stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 15-11/16″ over checkered wood butt, and features drop points and 24 LPI point pattern checkering with line border. Matching beavertail forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.622, right -.621. Bore restrictions: Interchangeable chokes. Wall thickness: left -.026, right -.029. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Weight: 6 lbs. 1 oz, LOP 15-11/16″. Leatherite case has two locks. Interior is lined with olive open-weave cloth, and contains 2 keys. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain virtually all of their orig blue, with some minor silvering and marks. Action retains virtually all of its coin finish. Stocks retain their rubbed oil finish with some minor marks and scuffs. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Bores are excellent, with no visible imperfections.
