JAPANESE WWII SHINGUNTO GENDAITO SWORD. 26 ¼” shinogi zukuri blade. Suguha hamon, ubu nakago signed “MANTETSU TSUKURU WO”. Dated by the zodiac cycle “SHOWA KINOE-SARU HARU” (spring 1944). Mantetsu blades were hand forged using Manchurian steel. SIZE: 38” long overall. MOUNTS: Blade, habaki and black lacquered saya only. CONDITION: Blade is gray, light pitting and a few minor nicks. Saya is a modern reproduction that does not fit properly. 4-54992-15 GA31 (200-300)
