*SCARCE JOSEPH JUST DOUBLE RIFLE DRILLING. Cal. 30-06 x 30-06/12 ga. SN 597.64. Scarce, wonderful hunting combination rifle/shotgun with 24” bbl cluster having a flat, matted, solid rib, pedestal mounted, caterpillar front sight and fixed rear sight mounted on rib with a Greener crossbolt rib extension & dbl underbites. Mounted with nicely figured French walnut with checkered wraparound forearm & pistol grip stock with Greener thumb safety on left side of wrist and typical European style shadow cheekpiece, 14” over a serrated hard rubber buttplate. Bottom of bbls have a safari sling loop with a corresponding loop on bottom of stock. It has a hard rubber White Line grip cap. Receiver & sideplates are French gray finished with very deep, relief engraved, Germanic scenes of a stag chasing a hind with two other hind in background, all in a large vignette with forest scene. Right side has four raebuck in a mountain scene, all surrounded by extremely well executed, intertwined, foliate arabesque patterns with edelweiss blossoms on fences & side reinforcements. Thumb lever is pierce filed in shape of a squirrel with an acorn and receiver has a concealed Greener crossbolt. Both triggers are set. Trigger guard & forend iron are engraved to match. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Bbls retain virtually all of their orig factory blue and receiver & sideplates about all of their fine gray finish. Trigger guard retains virtually all of its orig factory blue. Wood is sound with a few very minor handling & storage marks and retains about all of its orig varnish.
