*WILLIAM POWELL BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 16110. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Dovetailed bbls are engraved “William Powell & Son. 35. Carrs Lane, Birmingham.” on narrow concave game rib. Bbl flats show Birmingham nitro proofs for 2-3/4″ chambers at .728. Bottom of right bbl has engraved SN. Case hardened scallop backed boxlock action features automatic safety (“Safe” inlaid in gold) and dbl triggers. Action is engraved in well cut scroll with rose bouquet highlights. “William Powell & Son Birmingham” is in ribands on either side of action. Trigger plate, top lever, and trigger guard are blued, have matching engraving, and SN is on short tang of guard. Flesh-toned European walnut buttstock is strikingly marbled with dark streaks, and measures 15″ over checkered wood butt. Stock features drop points, 20 LPI point pattern checkering with mullered borders, and gold oval on toe line engraved with initials “C.D.O.’B.” Matching splinter forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.727, right -.728. Bore restrictions: left -.021, right -.005. Wall thickness: left -.032, right -.035. Drop at heel: 2-1/4″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 6 lbs. 7 oz, LOP 15″. Fine quality leather motor case has stitched leather corners, lined in maroon cloth with Powell paper label, and contains brass and ebony 2-pc cleaning rod, pair of Powell marked snap caps, and 2 keys. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain nearly all their orig lustrous black, slightly silvered at muzzles. Action retains 90% brilliant case color, silvered on lower edges and slightly on fences. Floorplate, trigger guard, and top lever retain nearly all their orig blue, with only the slightest silvering on trigger guard bow. Stocks have a few minor marks. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Bores are excellent. Case is excellent, with a few minor marks in leather. Interior is excellent.
