13″ METERT 8-TUNE CYLINDER MUSIC BOX. Serial number 4978. Nice walnut case with lots of string inlay with a large 9-1/4″ x 4″ inlaid lid with musical motif trimmed with leaves and scrolls. String inlay on underside of lid with original tune card attached. Brass mechanism is key wind with nice large iron winding key. Brass bed plate is marked “H. Metert”. SIZE: 20-1/2″ w x 6-3/4″ d x 5″ t. CONDITION: Case is nice, all original except molding on front of lid is partially replaced. Mechanism is completely unrestored and original. Plays well, needing damper work and one tooth is missing. Complete cleaning and polishing will make this a beautiful music box. 1-11447 (1,000-1,500)
