*SPECTACULAR CASED ENGRAVED ITHACA MODEL 37 PUMP SHOTGUN 2-BBL SET. Cal. 16 ga. SN 32309. Wonderful custom pump shotgun with 30″ full choke bbl & 26″ skeet bbl, both with Simmons ventilated rib with Ray-Bar front sights & ivory middle beads. Receiver is wonderfully engraved with full game scene vignettes consisting of fabulously detailed raised gold & platinum flying ducks on left side, two equally spectacularly detailed flying pheasants & a setter all in raised gold & platinum on right side having extremely well executed foliate arabesque patterns around front & rear edges. Right side vignette is signed “ALPEN”. Trigger guard has raised gold initials “KLH”. Mounted with very highly figured center crotch cut flame grain American walnut with fleur-de-lis carved & checkered forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-3/4″ over an orig Ithaca pad. Forearm has 2-color wood diamond inlays with an ivory diamond center. Grip cap is rosewood with an ivory spacer and ivory shield inlay. Right side of buttstock has an inlay identical to forearm. Left side of buttstock has a beautifully carved mallard drake with green head, yellow bill, ivory ring around his neck & a rosewood breast with four rosewood cattails. Accompanied by a Browning round corner case for 2-bbl set. Drop at heel: 1-3/4″, drop at comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: 26″ bbl: .005; 30″ bbl: .030. Wall thickness: 26″ bbl: .048, 30″ bbl: .048. Bore diameter: 26″ bbl: .657, 30″ bbl – .640. Weight with 26″ bbl: 7 lbs. 6.4 oz. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Retains virtually all of its spectacular custom finish to both metal & wood with some fine crazing in the buttstock varnish. Blue is strong & bright. Crisp mechanics, bright shiny bores.
