*WONDERFUL GOLD INLAID ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 12 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN 945764. Finished identical to another Model 12 28 ga. being sold elsewhere in this auction. This fine shotgun is fitted with a 28″ solid rib full choke bbl with sgl bead. Receiver is identically engraved on both sides in a modified Style 5, consisting of very large motifs of a raised gold bird dog & two raised gold flying partridge in typical Winchester field scene. Surrounded by a modified oval gold wire with very well executed arabesque patterns at each end, also with gold wire border. There are flourishes of arabesque patterns elsewhere with about 1-1/2″ of engraving on bbl. There is a Winchester style pigeon applied to magazine tube just above serial number. Fitted with after market, very highly figured, shell grain American walnut with diamond checkered large forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/4″ over a Winchester embossed hard rubber buttplate. Drop at the heel: 2-3/8″, drop at the comb: 1-1/2″. Bore restriction: .024. Bore diameter: .634. Weight: 6 lbs. 13.44 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Probably unfired since restoration, retaining virtually all of its extremely fine, very professional custom finish to both metal & wood.
