*FINE PARKER BROS. BHE GRADE SIDE-BY-SIDE SHOTGUN. SN 171245. Cal. 12 ga. 32″ Acme Steel bbls with tapered, matted, concave rib with sgl silver sighting bead, 2-9/16″ chambers, choked FULL / FULL with dbl triggers & ejectors. Top rib of bbl is marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN, CONN. ACME STEEL.”. B grade receiver engraved with fine foliate arabesque scroll & “PARKER BROS.” on each side, with oval of 2 pointers on left and a pointer & a setter on right. Vignette on floor plate is a stag & a hind running across a meadow. Top tang has had safety removed & slot neatly filled. Mounted in nice piece of “streaky” walnut with checkered side panels & fleur-de-lis dropper point, checkered straight grip & “Parker” logo hard rubber butt plate. There is a gold initial oval engraved “J.W.J.” in the toe line. Checkered splinter forend with engraved metal tip insert. Bore diameter: left -.734, right -.733. Bore restrictions: left -.039, right -.033. Wall thickness: left -.031, right -.027. Drop at heel: 2″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs. 11 oz. LOP 14″. Parker Identification and Serialization Book identifies this gun as grade A-5 12 ga. with 32″ bbls, ejectors & straight grip. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain 90% orig blue with minor muzzle wear & the usual light nicks & scratches. Receiver has 50-60% orig case colors, with balance a silver patina across bottom & sharp edges. Trigger guard has 50-60% orig blue, worn to silver in middle of tang. Stock is sound with minor crack behind top tang, good checkering, a few light minor nicks & dings and a fine hand-rubbed oil finish. Forend is sound with minor hairline crack on right from iron to checkering; also a few minor nicks & dings, with a modest attempt to repoint checkering & an added coat of finish. Gun is tight, with crisp mechanics, strong ejectors & shiny bores. 4-36198 BDT32 (9,000-12,000)
