CHINESE CARVED MODEL OF A ROYAL BARGE. Late 18th-early 19th century. Together with a carved ivory puzzle ball on stand and a netsuke. The boat carved from ivory with pierced fretwork overall, mounted with polychrome painted figures and furnishings. The puzzle ball carved with leafy grapevines. The three-figured netsuke depicting two adults disciplining a child. SIZE: BARGE ON STAND: 9-1/4″ h. x 11-1/4″ l. x 5-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: The boat with losses to fretwork, the puzzle ball with damages to inner spheres, the netsuke with nice old surface. 9-93656 (800-1,200)
