SIGNED ED (European, 19th Century) THE WATER BOWL. Oil on canvas scene shows a brown and white dog nestled inside doghouse peering out at a white cat which has paw in a green slip decorated bowl. Signed lower right with conjoined initials ED. Housed in what appears to be its original gesso decorated frame. Paris canvas stamp on reverse “Ancienne Maison Valle, Paris”. SIZE: 18” x 14-3/4”. CONDITION: Three patches to reverse and corresponding inpainting, craquelure, good. 9-26143 (1,200-1,600)
