17-1/2” EXTREMELY RARE FRENCH BISQUE BLACK POUPEE. This is the first doll Mrs. Schmidt purchased. A wonderful and rare fashion with well molded ethnic features. Black eyes, open mouth with two rows of teeth and a slight smile. She has a stiff neck with slightly molded bosom. She is on a dark brown leather kid body. She has a cork pate and a replaced black mohair wig. This doll is dressed in a lovely two-piece tan plaid silk costume with purple velvet trim and antique matching hat. CONDITION: Body appears to be repainted with some work on fingers. Body has seam tear at top of her left leg (back). There is a hairline on forehead starting at crown and going to left eye, (very hard to see). Her right eye has a repaired chip, and there is light scuffing on the tip of the nose. 1-729 CL 57 (2,000-3,000)
