INLAID LADIES TRAVELING MUSIC BOX TOILETRIES CASE. Beautiful veneer box. SIZE: 13” long x 5-3/4” high x 8-1/2” wide. Case has a beautifully inlaid lid and burl wood center inlay with metal, ivory and abalone shell decorations. The front of the lid is nicely painted in gold lettering, ‘MINNA WOLFF/GUTHRIE I.T.”. The music box plays “Home On The Range”. The interior has maroon velvet lining in the lid, in the tray and in the bottom of the box. The contents consist of nine pieces of tortoise shell pattern celluloid toiletry articles, a roll-up leather carrying case marked on the outside “MINNA WOLFF”, and contains five ivory-colored celluloid items including three small round boxes and two manicure items plus a bone cuticle pick. Also included is a small tintype of a lady in 1880’s costume, a silver scallop shell ashtray, a small silver bell, two strings of beads and a small folding trigger nickel plated German pinfire revolver. CONDITION: Box is very good, missing a couple pieces of metal inlay from the lid and a chip from the inside edge of the bottom. Tray has a few broken and missing dividers, some of which are modern replacements. Tortoise shell celluloid items all appear to be in fine condition. Ivory colored celluloid items are also fine with the carrying case much worn. Revolver retains about 90% original nickel and has mechanical problems. 4-51338 JR25 (1,000-2,000)
