LADIES TRAVELING MUSIC BOX TOILETRIES CASE. Fine old walnut veneer traveling case. SIZE: 11-3/4” long x 6” high x 8-3/4” deep. The lid has rounded front and back edges with an engraved round medallion in the lid and round medallion keyhole escutcheon. The box contains a music box, which plays “Beautiful Dreamer”. The interior is lined in lemon yellow velvet and contains four lift-out trays containing a myriad of traveling accessories and jewelry, including two silver overlay cologne bottles; a four-pc yellow celluloid manicure set with cuticle scissors, a beautiful, tiny silver overlay French perfume bottle with coral button; a tiny silver ladies wrist watch by “DIWEN” with red and white stones; a long pin with what appear to be marcasite and tourmaline stones; a silver filigree bracelet with white stones; a small round silver initial pin; a short string of graduated synthetic pearls; a pair of rhinestone earrings; sterling leaf pin and earrings; a silver metal cameo; a sterling compact with mirror; a wooden rosary; a “PARKETTE” fountain pen; a tiny glass book-shaped item with silver colored lid and an oval Madonna medallion and a cross on the back; a ladies handkerchief and another silver cross on a chain. The bottom contains a sterling back ink blotter, a small oval fluted sterling ashtray, a small silver colored snuff box with porcelain top, a Florentine Repousse match safe, two sterling dram cups and an unmarked folding trigger 7mm pinfire revolver with decorative Gutta Percha handles. The corner of the box has a cartridge block for seven cartridges. Inside the lid is a stationery compartment and a silver handled letter opener in its attached sheath. CONDITION: Box has some cracks in the lid veneer and is missing a small chip. Interior is lightly soiled; otherwise most of the contents are in fine condition.
