VERY FINE NIEDNER CUSTOM DELUXE WINCHESTER HIGH WALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. SN 33082. Cal. 32-20 Winchester. Beautiful deluxe high wall with 30″ rnd custom bbl with dovetailed globe front sight and a slot blank in the rear seat. Tang is mounted with a short range vernier tang peep sight with 2-1/2″ staff. Sight base has an extra hole but top tang has only orig holes. Left side of lower tang has assembly number “2556” and “XXX”. Assembly number was observed in the top tang channel of buttstock and inside toe of buttplate. Buttstock & forearm are matching H-style checkered XXX fancy figured American walnut with black insert schnable tip forearm and serpentine black insert pistol grip buttstock with crescent steel buttplate. Bbl is marked on top left “NIEDNER RIFLE CORP, DOWAGIAC, MICH.” CONDITION: Very fine. Bbl retains 93-95% strong orig custom blue with a cleaned area on bottom near the muzzle end, apparently where someone dressed out a couple of small nicks. Receiver retains most of its orig case colors, moderately faded with a brilliant area of color on right side. Lever & hammer retain faded case colors in sheltered areas, mostly having turned silver. Wood is sound and although the forearm is not assembly numbered there is no question that it is orig to this rifle. Wood has minor handling & use nicks & dings and retains virtually all of its bright piano varnish finish. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-39793 JR328 (4,000-6,000)
