*ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 62A PUMP RIFLE. Cal 22 short only. SN 259662. Elaborately engraved and gold inlaid, little rifle with 23” rnd bbl, standard original sights with nicely figured, checkered, custom stock and forearm. Stock is 13-5/8” over an original Winchester hard rubber buttplate. The receiver has full coverage engraving in foliate arabesque patterns with punch dot background and vignettes of a large gold rabbit in a woodland scene with a gold butterfly in the background on the left side. The right side has a large gold wolf looking at a gold bear head in a woodland scene. Both sides are bordered in fine gold wire. The top of the bolt is engraved with a gold axe sticking in the top of a stump and a mocking bird sitting on the axe handle. The floorplate is engraved with a large gold prairie dog. The top and bottom tangs are full coverage engraved to match with gold wire outlines. The trigger bow is inlaid with fine gold wire in arabesque patterns. The bbl has matching engraving extending almost 7” up the bbl with a gold band at the chamber end and fine gold wire inlay. The rear sight is also engraved. Both magazine bands and corresponding areas on the bbl are matching engraved. About 2-1/2” of the muzzle is likewise engraved with a wide gold band and gold wire arabesque patterns down both sides. The right side vignette has the initials “WK” for Walter Koouloch. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Retains virtually all of the original custom finish to both metal and wood.
