*EXTREMELY SCARCE PARKER “OOO” FRAME DHE GRADE SIDE BY SIDE SHOTGUN. . SN 230223. Cal. .410. 26″ bbls, tapered matted concave rib with single brass sighting bead, top of rib marked “PARKER BROS. MAKERS.MERIDAN.CT.U.S.A. TITANIC STEEL”. Double triggers & ejectors. 2-1/2″ chambers, MOD / MOD choke. The D grade “OOO” frame is standard engraving with fine foliate arabesque scroll with a ribbon engraved “PARKER BROS.” and pointer on left side of receiver, and foliate arabesque scroll and ribbon engraved with “PARKER BROS.” and setter on right side with a vignette of arabesque scroll surrounding 4 pheasants on trigger plate, with balance of receiver in accenting arabesque scroll. The water table of the tiny frame has lighting cuts and is stamped with patent Nos. DH, SN230223 3. Mounted with nicely figured walnut, checkered pistol grip, Parker Bros. hard rubber grip cap, skeleton steel buttplate, silver initial shield, and checkered splinter forend, with engraved steel tip insert. The SN of this gun does not appear in the “Parker Gun Identification and Serialization” book, as there is a void from SN 228977 to 231916. There is no doubt that this is an orig DHE “OOO” frame .410. Bore measurements are not available, with drop at heel 2-3/4″, drop at comb 1-1/2″, LOP 14-1/4″, and weight 5 lbs. 12 oz. CONDITION: Very fine. Bbls retain 95-98% orig blue, with a just a few minor handling marks, and a couple of light nicks & scratches. Receiver has orig case color visible in protected areas and carries a soft silver patina over most of its surface, the engraving is clear and sharp. Trigger guard has traces of orig blue mixed with traces of silver and brown patina across bow and silvered from use at grip area. Stock is sound with sharp checkering a few minor nicks & handling marks and retains most of a fine professionally cleaned orig looking finish, the initial shield is engraved “TOW”. The skeleton butt has traces of orig blue but is mostly a mixture of brown & silver patina. Forend is solid with metal carrying a soft silver patina, fine sharp checkering & a professionally cleaned hand rubbed finish. Mechanics are crisp with non-auto safety, strong ejectors, and shiny bores. A truly fine and honest DHE grade Parker .410. 4-33464 BDT154 (40,000-50,000)
