*EXTREMELY RARE AND MASSIVE PARKER 8GA GH-GRADE S/S SHOTGUN. SN 171735. Cal. 8 ga. 38″ bbls w/tapered matted concave rib, w/dual ivory sighting beads, dbl triggers and extractors. Top rib is marked, “PARKER BROTHERS MAKERS, MERIDAN, CONN. PARKER SPECIAL STEEL”. This massive #6 frame G-grade receiver has the standard scroll and oval w/ducks and “PARKER BROS” on each side and circle and two ducks w/scroll border on bottom. Mounted w/nicely figured walnut, checkered side panels, checkered pistol grip, Parker hard rubber grip cap, gold initial shield engraved “DJN” and Parker dog’s head hard rubber butt plate. Checkered splinter forend w/metal tip insert. The Parker Gun Identification and Serialization book identifies gun as “8 ga., 38″ bbls, P2-grade, pistol-grip stock and no extras”. Bore measurements are not available for 8 ga. Drop at heel: 2-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/2″. Weight: 13 lbs. 3 oz. LOP 14-1/4″. CONDITION: Extremely fine as restored. Bbls retain virtually all of their fine factory-quality restored blue w/just a few minor nicks and handling marks. Receiver has nearly all of its restored cyanide case colors. Stock is sound w/minor chip behind top tang. Good checkering w/ restored finish showing some crazing and minor chipping at butt plate. Forend is sound w/sharp checkering, a few minor handling marks and retains most of its restored finish.
