*DELUXE ENGRAVED WINCHESTER MODEL 42 PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 410. SN 8388. Beautiful deluxe Model 42 with 26″ full choke bbl, solid rib with Bradley red ivory front bead & silver middle bead. Receiver is engraved in Style 5 with two gold bird dogs & two gold partridge on left side and a gold setter with two gold quail on right side in usual field scenes with arabesque patterns at each end. Left vignette is signed “LC”. This cataloguer is not acquainted with a factory engraver whose initials are LC. There are flourishes of arabesque patterns in various places with about 1-1/4″ of engraving on each side of bbl. Fitted with matching very highly figured shell grain American walnut with large checkered forearm & pistol grip stock, 14-1/8″ over a Winchester embossed hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Extremely fine. Appears to be unfired since engraving & finishing and overall retains virtually all of this beautiful finish to both metal & wood. Engraving & wood appear to be factory but we cannot guarantee that. Mechanics are crisp, bright shiny bore. 4-55419 JR68 (2,500-5,000)
