*SCARCE L.C. SMITH EAGLE GRADE SINGLE BARREL TRAP GUN. Cal. 12 ga. SN S13954E. Fine, rare trap gun with 32” full choke bbl with flat, matted, ventilated rib, dbl ivory beads, crossbolt rib extension & ejector. Mounted with very highly figured, flame grain, American walnut with long checkered, beavertail forearm & straight stock with checkered side panels, 14-5/8” over a Pachmayr trap pad. Receiver is beautifully engraved in typical eagle grade patterns with a flying pheasant on left side, a flying duck on right side and an eagle on opening lever pivot, all with stippled background, surrounded by foliate arabesque patterns. Triggerguard is engraved with initials “EHK”. Bore diameter: – .726. Bore restriction: – .038. Wall thickness: .053. Drop at heel: 1-7/8”, drop at comb: 1-3/8”. Weight: 8 lbs. 6.72 oz. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains 96-98% strong orig blue and receiver about all of its orig case colors with a lot of its orig lacquer coating with some slight edge fading and slight wear on top tang. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks with strong clean checkering & a minor chip or two with stock having had the rear 1/2 cleaned. Forearm & front half of stock retain most of their orig varnish. Mechanics are fine, bright shiny bore with some slight scuffing back toward chamber. 4-30204 JR195 (3,000-5,000)
