JAPANESE KOTO KATANA IN WWII KYU-GUNTO MOUNTS. 27” shinogi zukuri blade with midare hamon. Signed “BIZEN (NO) KUNI JU OSAFUNE SAEMONSCHICHIRO FUJIWARA HAROMITSU SAKU” dated “TEN-SHO HACHI NEN NI GATSU HI” (a day in February 1580). SIZE: 38” long overall. MOUNTS: Tsuka with iron fuchi, naval tsuba and saya. CONDITION: Blade with spotty rust overall. Forging unclear and a number of small nicks to the cutting edge. Tsuka canvass covered and only the fuchi remains. Naval scabbard with two ashi in good used condition. 4-54992-26 GA42 (800-1,200)
