GIUSEPPE AURELI (ITALIAN, 1858 – 1929) WOOING THE BARMAID. Watercolor tavern scene shows a musketeer seated on a wooden table with fancy outfit including large hat. His sword and cape are on a side chair and he holds a young lady next to him. An alcove is seen in the background with beer kegs. Signed bottom right and dated “1881”. Housed in a fabulous gilt gesso-decorated frame with gilt liners and new mat. SIZE: Sight size: 19-1/2″ X 13-3/4″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-20169 (1,000-1,400)
