*L.C. SMITH FEATHERWEIGHT IDEAL GRADE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 ga. SN FW190864. Usual configuration with 26” bbls choked IMP-MOD/IMP-CYL with raised, flat, matted rib, double ivory beads, crossbolt rib extension, extractor & Miller sgl selective trigger. Mounted with orig, very nicely figured, French walnut with checkered, black insert, splinter forearm & semi-pistol grip stock, 13-1/4” over a serrated hard rubber buttplate, appears to have been cut to this length. Receiver & lockplates are engraved in typical ideal grade patterns with foliate arabesque engraving with stippled background & maker’s name on each side. Bore diameter: left – .665, right – .663. Bore restrictions: left – .021, right – .008. Wall thickness: left – .033, right – .035. Drop at heel: 3”, drop at comb: 1-3/4”. Weight: 6 lbs. 11.2 oz. CONDITION: Fine to very fine. Bbls retain 95-96% strong orig blue. Receiver retains about 30-40% orig case colors in sheltered areas with balance turned silver. Lockplates retain mostly faded case colors, nearly turned silver. Triggerguard retains about 80% thin orig blue. Wood is sound with light handling & use marks and retains most of a professionally restored finish.
