*WESTLEY RICHARDS CONNAUGHT BOXLOCK EJECTOR GAME GUN WITH CASE. SN 2056. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Dovetailed barrels are engraved “Westley Richards & Co. England.” on narrow concave game rib. Bbl flats have 1979 Birmingham nitro proofs. SN is on bottoms of bbls. Loop is stamped “Made in England.” Case hardened scalloped backed boxlock action has automatic safety (“Safe” inlaid in gold) and double triggers. Action is engraved with full coverage large deeply cut scroll. “Westley Richards” is inlaid in gold on rectangular bands on each side of action. Blued floorplate, trigger guard, and top lever have matching engraving with SN on trigger guard tang. Somewhat streaked and lightly figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-13/16″ over checkered wood butt, and features 20 LPI flat top checkering with double line borders. There is a silver oval on toe line engraved “GCC”. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.614, right -.613. Bore restrictions: left -.008, right -.005. Wall thickness: left -.035, right -.041. Drop at heel: 2-1/2″, drop at comb: 1-5/8″. Weight: 5 lbs. 15 oz, LOP 14-13/16″. Olive green canvas case with tan leather trim is lined with maroon cloth with paper Westley Richards label. Accessories include 2-pc brass and walnut cleaning rod, square oil bottle, and the key. CONDITION: Excellent, near new, showing some evidence of having been fired, but very little. Metal finish is all intact, with the slightest bit of silvering at tip of thumbpiece. Wood shows only the slightest minor marks from handling, mostly on left side of buttstock. There are a couple of minor knocks in checkering at forend. Action is tight. Bbls are on face. Ejectors are in time. Bores are excellent. 2008 MSR for this gun was nearly $11,000.00. 4-40879 MGM136 (4,000-7,000)
