UNUSUAL ORIENTAL PIGEON-BLOOD CASED GLASS VASE WITH APPLIED DECORATION. Second half 19th century. Together with a cased glass persimmon vase, now mounted as a lamp. The first example applied with fanciful dragons, butterflies, and flowerheads, decorated in metallic tones, the dragon with jeweled eyes. SIZE: The first: 10-3/4″ h. The second, vase only: 8-3/4″ h. PROVENANCE: From a fine Beacon Hill and Thomaston estate. CONDITION: The first with some losses to applied decorations, notably the flower petals, otherwise very good. The second example drilled for lamp, otherwise good. 9-93706 (200-400)
