*SPECTACULAR WOODWARD SINGLE BBL TRAP GUN Cal 12ga. SN 6738. Beautiful trap gun with 32″ improved modified vent-ribbed bbl with dbl ivory beads & ejector. Has makers name & address on left side of bbl. Receiver has bifurcated lumps with dbl locking lugs & full side lock with cocked indicator on the left side & dummy sideplate on the right side all covered with about 80% spectacular English rose and scroll engraving with a delicate border pattern around plates. It has makers name on each side. Mounted with beautifully figured, English walnut with checkered, square tipped, semi-beaver tail forearm & pistol grip stock with raised teardrop side panels 14-1/2″ over a Kickeez pad. Checkering is very fine, about 28 lines per inch. Drop at heel: 1-3/8″, drop at comb: 1-1/16″. Bore restriction: .029. Wall thickness: .046. Bore diameter: .705. Weight: 8 lbs 4.8oz. Accompanied by a chocolate brown red felt lined leather trunk case compartmented for the gun, one snap cap & a 3-pc brass and ebony cleaning rod with handle , jag and mop. There is also a nickeled, square oil bottle. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl retains 96 to 97% strong orig blue with some slight muzzle edge wear and a couple of small dings in the rib. Receiver, lockplate, & sideplate retain about 80% orig case colors somewhat faded on right side, strong & bright on left side turning silver on bottom. Trigger guard retains 96-97% strong blue. Wood is sound & retains about all of an extremely fine professionally restored finish. Forearm has had its checkering freshened. Mechanics are fine. Brilliant shiny bore.
