FULL STOCK FLINTLOCK TRADE MUSKET. Cal. 62. Hudson Bay trade musket with 36” oct to rnd bbl, elliptical front sight, full stock with large trigger guard and long trigger. It has a brass butt plate secured with six square iron pins on the face and one on the tang. The lock plate is marked “Wilson 1824” and it has a seated fox over two initials stamped in front of the hammer and a small circle stamp on the right side of the buttstock that is probably another seated fox stamp. It has British proofs on the left flat of the bbl. It has raised teardrop side panels and around the top tang. There is a large connected “HB” carved on the right side of the comb. The sideplate with three lock plate screws is a modern sheet brass replacement. It has an iron trumpet head ramrod. CONDITION: Fair. No original finish remains. Forestock is cracked and it is missing the upper guide and nose cap. There is also a crack by the sideplate and there are chips missing around the lock plate. Stock is severely shrunk or the butt plate is a replacement. Mechanics are fine. 4-51115 JR1029 (750-1,250)
