45 STAR AMERICAN FLAG. 42″ x 42″. Blue canton only with 42 painted stars on each side. Flag is made of blue silk. Stars are painted gold with yellow highlights. 2-1/2″ gold silk fringe. The 45th star commemorates the state of Utah which became a state in 1896. This well made four-sided fringed flag served some unknown purpose, but obviously represented canton from 45 star flag. CONDITION: Excellent overall with minor losses to gold paint on stars. 4-53388 JS28 (100-200)
