*MERKEL MODEL 147E DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 20 ga. SN 470422. Fine boxlock dbl with side plates having 26-3/4″ bbls choked MOD/IMP-CYL with tapered concave matted rib with sgl brass bead, Greener cross bolt rib extension, dbl lump, ejectors & dbl triggers. Coin finished receiver has side clips & side plates with cocked indicators. Side plates are fully engraved with the vignette of a fox & duck on left side in a marsh scene & a hawk & two quail in a field scene on right side. Balance of receiver & trigger guard have light arabesque pattern engraving with about 40% coverage. Mounted with very beautiful dark streaky French walnut with a checkered semi-beavertail forearm & pistol grip stock with cheek piece & sling swivels, 14-1/2″ over a black composition buttplate. Bbls have a corresponding sling swivel. Drop at the heel: 2-1/2″, drop at the comb: 1-3/8″. Bore restrictions: left – .025, right – .011. Bore diameter: left – .597, right – .615. Weight: 6 lbs. 5.76 oz. CONDITION: Extraordinarily fine. As new, may have been fired but if so, very little.
