*UNUSUAL GERMAN THREE BARREL SHOTGUN. SN NSN. Cal. 16 x 16 x 16ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. Three triggers (front two are articulated). Automatic safety. 28-3/4″ Steel bbls have raised matted concave rib w/ cross bolt extension. Bottoms of top bbls are stamped w/ German proofs, as is the bottom bbl, but in addition it has date stamp “12/24”. Bottom bbl has initials “WK” stamped beside the loop w/ a sling loop soldered to it. All three bbls have nitro proof marks on their sides. Deep, scroll back, box lock action has double under lugs and cross bolt third fastener. Action is engraved w/ Germanic acanthus scroll w/ stippled background and vignettes of fox and flushing duck on left, and family group of quail on right. Trigger guard is made of horn. Plain European walnut full pistol grip buttstock measures 15-1/8″ over a ribbed horn butt plate, featuring shadow line right handed cheek piece, sling loop, and sunburst grip cap. Checkering is 24 LPI w/ double line, and flat mullered borders. Forend has Deeley release and checkering to match buttstock. Bore diameter: left -.675, right -.676, bottom -.677. Bore restrictions: left -.017, right -.013, bottom -.025. Wall thickness: left -.019, right -.022, bottom -.017. Drop at heel: 2-3/16″, drop at comb:1-1/2″. Weight: 7 lbs 14oz. PROVENANCE: Dr. Frank Miller Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbls retain virtually all of professional re-black. Action retains virtually all its coin finish. Stocks retain most of orig oil finish, w/ repaired break top right. Grip cap is replacement. Horn trigger guard is fine w/ no breaks or cracks. Butt plate has some moth damage, and chips at toe. Bores are bright and shiny w/ area 6″ from muzzle of left bbl where dent has been removed. Action is somewhat loose w/ forend removed, and off face.
