*MERKEL MODEL 60E 147EL DBL BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 28 ga. SN 480166. Fine German dbl with 26-3/4″ bbls choked FULL/MOD with flat tapered matted rib, sgl bead, Greener cross bolt rib extension, dbl lump with ejectors & dbl triggers. It has full sidelock receiver with side clips, beautifully engraved with vignettes fully covering lockplates consisting of a pointer with three pheasant in a woodland scene on left side & a fox with three ducks in a woodland scene on right side. Balance of receiver has very nice foliate arabesque patterns with about 50% coverage. Locks have cocked indicators. Mounted in very highly figured dark streaky French walnut with checkered semi-beavertail forearm & straight stock, 14-1/2″ over a serrated black composition buttplate. Accompanied by its orig green cardboard shipping box with instruction manual & packing material. Drop at the heel: 2-3/4″, drop at the comb: 1-9/16″. Bore restrictions: left – .019, right – .010. Bore diameter: left – .535, right – .542. Weight: 6 lbs. 2.56 oz. CONDITION: Exceptionally fine. As new, appears to be unfired, retaining virtually all of its orig factory finish to both metal & wood. Crisp mechanics, brilliant shiny bores. Box is crisp. 4-55439 JR50 (3,000-5,000)
