WATERCOLOR OF THE INDIANS SIGNED H. F. FARNY. This small watercolor of Indians is attributed to but not guaranteed to be by the famed Western artist, Henry Francois Farny (1847-1916). This watercolor on paper depicts two Indians in a winter landscape. The Indian in front carries a Model 66 Winchester. In the rear, two Indian ponies-one with rider. In the background coniferous trees and the ground covered with snow. It’s possible that this small watercolor is a study for a larger Farney painting, and it is signed in the lower right hand corner H. F. Farny above the date 1909 with a circle having a dot within it to the right. SIZE: 9” high x 6” wide. (Size of image only). CONDITION: Watercolor is in very good condition and the gold frame also in good condition. 4-51352 (12,000-18,000)
